Home stomping grounds

The big kids and I are off to the Northwest to visit my two remaining grandparents and to see various family sites.  Yesterday was a very long travel day: up at 4:30am to get to the airport.  But we had plenty of time once we were there.

This morning we got up to snow on the ground (meanwhile, it has yet to even threaten to freeze, back home)!

Breakfast with the bears!

Skipping rocks at Haystack Lake

Some ordinary things still have to be done, like haircuts.

Trunk 'R Treat!

We helped host our church's Trunk R Treat this year: this was taken minutes before the crowd descended upon us, but it was a good night.  Lots of cute kids in cute costumes!

L to R: Ethan as Mickey Mouse, me as Suburban Dad, Luke as Thing 1, Isaac as Cat-Boy, Abbey as a cat, Naomi as Thing 2, and Mommy as Mom of Things!

Happy Columbus Day!

Any day is a good day for a parade, right?

Isaac Plays Soccer

Isaac started a soccer league this summer; here's the video from today's game, at least until the battery ran down.

Late Summer

I needed to pick up something at the office Saturday so the kids went in with me.  They wanted to see some of the campus sights; it is a beautiful campus for walking!

End of Summerama

Our church's VBS this year was spread over 7 Wednesdays, rather than all in one week, and yesterday was the last one.  I think it went pretty well and I know our kids enjoyed it!

Landed gentry

As of today, we are no longer homeless!  Also considerably more indebted.

There are raspberry bushes in the backyard, which might be the most important thing, as far as the kids are concerned. :)
