Children's Garden

We don't have majestic mountain ranges or long white beaches in mid-Michigan, but we do have some beautiful scenery, if you look for it.  Here are Abbey and Ethan at the Children's Garden, the same one Isaac and I visited a few days ago.

Playing in the snow

We took the kids outside yesterday afternoon to play in the snow. It's been so cold this winter that it was only the second time they'd gotten to play in the snow. And we have so much snow (about a foot and a half) that there was lots to do: build a snow fort, go "sledding" and dig a snow cave/tunnel.

I think we were waiting on dinner (June 29), and I was watching her play outside.

We can safely let her play in the yard now, despite living next to a busy street, because she stays put when set down. In a few weeks or months, she'll be too mobile to leave even for a moment.
