Happy Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone!

Someone gave Abbey a Lions cheerleading outfit, which I don't think she's worn before. Good thing the Lions play on Thanksgiving, because it was tight enough that I don't think she can wear it again! Sadly, her cheers did not help the Lions, who lost to the Titans 47-10.

First big trip with Abigail

Last weekend we took a trip down to Tennessee, to see our friends the McCuistons. Thankfully Abbey had recovered from her allergies and was feeling good, so she traveled well and warmed up to them quickly (they were good to give her time). We were sad to leave, and wish they could see her more often.

Playing in the leaves

Debbie took her outside today, to play in the leaves and get some Vitamin D.

A Pox on Abbey

It actually got much worse before it got better: her back was almost solid red with the rash for awhile. Two days/nights of no sleep for anybody (I think Striker dozed), although oddly she usually felt better during the day. Unfortunately, the doctor said there's nothing to do but wait for the drugs to work their way out of her system. She was so itchy and uncomfortable!

Daddy's Shoulders

She loves riding on my shoulders, and I think it's much more comfortable than carrying her in my arms.

This was taken just as she was getting over the triple-whammy of cold, tooth, and ear infection, and just before she demonstrated an allergic reaction to Amoxycillin. So the smile isn't destined to last long.

Fourth-Generation Family

We just got home from Irene Anderson's 90th birthday party. She is Debbie's grandmother, Abbey's great-grandmother, and Abbey's namesake too (her full name is Abigail Irene). While we were there, we managed to get a couple of fourth-generation pictures:

Wedding Bells

We went to a wedding yesterday, the wedding of Debbie's cousin Mike Folkert. We've been going to a lot of wedding lately: many of my friends are of marrying age, and so are many of Debbie's cousins.

Anyway, here's Daddy and Abbey, all dressed up!

Dinner (or was it lunch?)

She's been eating baby food for two or three months now, all the way up to meat. Although right now she's not real keen on the meat: more into the fruits and veggies.

This one is a good shot of her eyes too, incidentally. I think that will probably be the color they'll stay.

Naptime!

A lot of people have said she looks like me, but this is the first picture where I can see the resemblance.

Playing in the yard

We can safely let her play in the yard now, despite living next to a busy street, because she stays put when set down. In a few weeks or months, she'll be too mobile to leave even for a moment.

Looks like she's in a sea of grass, doesn't it? It's just clever cropping.

Bath time!

She's a big girl now, taking her bath in the big bathtub---that other one is only for little babies! Debbie says Abbey's learning to splash, and loves her rubber ducky.

We discovered that she loves to pick at the grass, and can be blissfully occupied for many minutes by grass.

At Grandma's house

Where they have lots of toys for cute grandkids! I was at home studying for a Microsoft exam, but Debbie said Abbey pulled the yellow ball out of the socket. What concentration!

It's an important skill, don't you think?

Mommy Time!

Typical evening for Mommy and Abbey. She's been eating like a horse lately!

It's not all bottles and diapers, though.

Road Trip

We're headed out to visit the 2008 Brick Bash, and Abigail can't wait to go on a road trip!

She was very good, and enjoyed seeing the town and the Legos from her stroller. But by the time we left it was time for her to eat, and we couldn't find any hot water to warm up her bottle. We ended up stopping at a sports bar and asking for a cup of water, which they cheerfully provided to us. Abbey's first time in a bar!

New perspectives

Here's a trick she just learned a day or two ago: rolling over on her side!

French time

We can't remember where we were going...probably somewhere boring, like the grocery store. But Abigail's ready!
